We decided to try something new/different with this Spring 2009 release.

Live at Pubs and Pirate-Core is partially a collection of, well, Pirate-Core songs... but what is Pirate-Core?

It's been described as a phenomenon, a cultural obsession with Pirates. The "Core" in Pirate-Core has also been defined as "hard-core" and/or meaning that the "Core", or Root, of a particular groups song must be pirate driven.

The Musical Blades define Pirate-Core as any genre of pirate music NOT consistent with what you would typically hear in the Pirate/Sea Song realm of music, yet, may in fact be interchangeable, kinda, with what some would consider the standard, or... "Traditional"

Make since? We didn’t think so, but suffice to say, you will know Pirate-Core when you hear it... and this CD’s got it!

Also on this CD you'll find live, Pub versions of a few of the standard Musical Blades songs! Plus, the last three tracks are brand new songs, specifically for this CD, that you'll hear us performing out at the festivals!
